Vantex, like any legitimate mortgage company, will never ask you to send them money in order to receive money from them.

Imposter Scams: What You Need to Know

Imposter scams are on the rise, and increasingly, fraudsters are posing as legitimate businesses to gain your trust and steal your money. These scams can be highly sophisticated, often using real company branding, fake or spoofed email addresses using actual company employee names, and even signing victims up for actual company newsletters to appear more convincing.

At Vantex Capital Group, we’ve seen an increase in these tactics being used to impersonate our team, and we want to help you stay informed and protected.

How Imposter Scams Work

Scammers often pretend to represent reputable businesses by:

  • Creating lookalike email addresses using domains like .us, .org, or free providers like Gmail or Yahoo

  • Scammers may also use email spoofing, a tactic where they make messages appear to come from official addresses, even though they are sent from fraudulent sources.

  • Offering financial products the real company doesn’t actually provide (such as personal loans, grants, or debt relief)

  • Initiating contact through WhatsApp, social media, or text

  • Using real company newsletters or materials to reinforce their credibility

  • Pressuring victims to act quickly or provide upfront payments or sensitive information

Know Where the Business Operates

A helpful way to spot a scam is to understand where a business actually operates. Many imposter scams target individuals in areas where the real company doesn’t do business.

At Vantex Mortgage Group, we are a California-based mortgage lender. We offer real estate-secured loans in the US state of California only.  We do not operate internationally.

If you are located outside the U.S., especially if you’ve received unsolicited communication offering a personal loan from “Vantex Mortgage Group or Vantex Capital Group,” it is a scam.

Common Red Flags

Watch out for these signs of an imposter scam:

  • You’re offered a personal loan, even though the company only provides real estate loans

  • The contact email or website looks almost right but uses the wrong domain

  • Vantex, like any legitimate mortgage company, will never ask you to send them money in order to receive money from them

  • The person avoids a phone call or won’t provide verifiable contact info

  • You’re getting emails or updates from a company you’ve never contacted

How to Stay Safe
  1. Verify the source. Only communicate with official company emails. For Vantex, that means addresses ending in @vantexmortgage.com

  2. Check the product. Vantex does not offer personal loans. Be wary of anyone claiming otherwise.

  3. Avoid urgency traps. Scammers often pressure you to act fast, take your time to verify.

  4. Never give personal info unless you’re absolutely sure of who you’re dealing with. They might try to get you to reveal your online banking passwords, PINs, or other personal information to access your accounts.

  5. Check the service area. Vantex only provides its services in the U.S State of California.

  6. Beware of “Too good to be true offers”

What to Do If You Suspect a Scam
  • Don’t engage. Stop all contact with the suspected scammer.

  • Report it. File a report with your local authorities.

  • Contact the real company. Reach out directly using a verified phone number or verified email address. For Vantex, you can find out how to reach us directly on our contact page.
